Meet The Instructors

Andrea Bornino

Andrea has over 5 years of swim instructor experience and is an American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor.   She grew up in Southeastern Indiana where she spent most of her time swimming competitively year-round. After getting her Graphic Design degree, she went back to Purdue to become an Elementary Teacher. Currently, she teaches elementary physical education in the Lafayette School Corporation and coaches youth basketball. She has also been a 5th grade teacher, a reading interventionist, and technology instructor. When she’s not teaching, Andrea enjoys cheering on the Boilermakers and spending time with her family. BOILER UP!!

Brandi has been teaching swim lessons for 4 years and is an American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor. She is a Senior at Purdue University studying Law and Society with minors in Political Science and Forensic Science. She is from Mason, OH (suburb outside of Cincinnati) and swam competitively year round for the high school varsity team and USA swim team Mason Manta Rays. After getting her under graduate degree, she plans to attend either law school to study family law, or graduate school to study forensic science and/or criminology.

Brandy has been actively engaged in health and fitness for over 20 years. She has completed 3 Ironman races and over 10 full marathons. Brandy holds many certifications, which include: National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, Les Mills RPMTM, Silver Sneakers level 1 and level 2, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, Classic Cycle, and Swim Lesson Instructor. She has designed and instructed sports-specific conditioning classes for triathlons, distance running, mountain biking, weight loss, and weight training. Through these classes she has coached dozens of first-time marathoners and tri-athletes across their first finish lines.

Jenny has been teaching swim lessons for 4 years and is Red Cross certified in CPR and as a lifeguard. She swam competitively for over 13 years, including a year of varsity swimming at Purdue University. She is form the Lafayette area and is currently in her senior year at Purdue, studying Movement and Sports Science/Pre-Med. She is actively involved in Purdue Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Purdue Rotaract Club. She enjoys swimming, running and spending time with her family.

Nicole has spent much of her life in and around the water. She started to swim competitively year round in Ohio and continued on to swimming at the national level after moving to Northeast Indiana. She is Red Cross certified in CPR and as a lifeguard. She has spent her last three summers as a lifeguard and swim instructor teaching all levels. Nicole is currently studying Art History and Photography at Purdue University where she is involved in the sailing club and is an active member of a sorority. In her free time she enjoys running, swimming, and leading an active and involved lifestyle.

With over 10 years of competitive swimming experience, Samantha hopes to share her passion for the water with her clients, whatever their age and skill level may be. When not in the water or at the gym, she can be found cheering for her favorite sports teams (GO BOILERS!) and spending time with her family and friends. Samantha graduated from Purdue University in May 2011 with a degree in Biology and minors in Forensic Science and Law and Society. She currently works for COOK Medical/ MED Institute in West Lafayette as a Histology Technician. Samantha is excited to be part of the Club NewTone team looks forward to getting actively involved in the community.

    Cut a picture of the dress you like out of a magazine or tape up a picture of you in your skinny jeans on the fridge. Whatever you’re aiming for, make sure it’s somewhere you can see it and make sure it’s a realistic goal.
